The world is rapidly changing and deteriorating. Don’t we see? Will we keep silent?

We witness a series of horrific changes taking place on different levels at an accelerating pace: Radiation is in the ocean, air and soil; Mother Earth screams in Haiti, Chile, New Zealand and Japan as we failed to hear her cry in New Orleans and Thailand; Women crumple under the heavy burden; Men and children migrants search for livelihood and hope; Freedom fighters are persecuted and slaughtered; Mother Nature’s resources are being endlessly exploited; Indigenous people’s treasures and wisdom are stolen for the sake of giant corporations; The few exert power over the many; Fascism is rapidly spreading like wildfire; Endless, unnecessary wars go on in most regions of the globe; Many of us worship the religion of the almighty dollar; We are brought to the brink of destruction by the sickness called Capitalist Patriarchy.
We humans have harmed Mother Nature in so many ways. Humans have upset the natural balance, polluted our earth and our water, violated the body and honor of women, children, laborers and indigenous people.
It is time to stop this insanity! There is an alternative!

We women of the world are taking to the streets on June 17, 2011, at Noon, calling: No more destruction! No more Nuclear Power! War is not our language! Violence against Nature and humans will not be tolerated!

Life is precious! Nature is precious! A society of peace is possible and we start building it TODAY! We, mothers and mothers’ offspring, endorse the gift economy we all practice, the maternal values of caring, nurturing, responsibility, peace building, gift giving and sharing and the ways of all indigenous people – matriarchal communities living in harmony with Mother Earth.
We call upon all Nations to put down your arms, dismantle all nuclear facilities, stop the destruction of Nature and clean up our water, our soil and our air now!

On June 17, 2011, at Noon, women are called to gather and stand silently for an hour in city centers and main streets, villages and neighborhood meeting points, stand up in the fields and workplaces.

Women’s allies, all mothers’ offspring – men, boys and girls – are called to join in!
